Lanx is an OLED table lamp.
It entered the collection of the Vitra Design Museum after the "Lightopia" exhibition.
«The table lamp with an essential, elegant design that gives a nod to cutting-edge technology. It makes use of OLED, produced by the company Lumiotec, a display capable of emitting its own light without the aid of additional components, making it possible to create an extremely thin film of material, even foldable or rollable. Energy consumption is also greatly reduced compared with similar technologies. Staying true to his training in the wood-industry district of Brianza, Marelli achieves a perfect marriage of technique and tradition, covering the OLED film with thin sheets of walnut wood, including the power cables, and folding the whole assembly. The result is an extremely light structure, just 3mm thick, in which clean forms and essential lines become the defining element, for a function pared back to just what is needed to make it pleasing to the eye — yet one that betrays the unmistakable hand of a young practitioner of Made in Italy.» — Enrico Longo
