Rondine, system of seating and tables in solid wood

Rondine is a system of seating in solid wood with dovetail joints. "Joints" refers to any practice capable of making an assembly more stable and resistant: a technique with very ancient origins, ranging from the use of nails and screws to the more modern joining of wood pieces with multiple interlocking joinery.

The dovetail joint belongs to the family of multiple joints, being made of complementary elements: tenons and mortises. It is particularly suited to elements subject to continuous stress and to right-angle joints.

Unlike dowelling, the dovetail joint provides greater strength thanks to its trapezoidal "teeth", which are difficult to pull apart.
